Competence, Baseball, & Pop Quizzes

Don’t wait until late on the 3rd day of a 3 day trial to put on your case.  That’s neither competent nor diligent.  Not to mention, if you can win your case with a pre-trial motion, do so.  Don’t figure “oh my case is so great that I’ll win at trial” and opt against filing the pre-trial motion.  That’s what Boston did over the final 6 games of the regular season, their equivalent of motion practice.

Now, at least one loyal reader – and Yankee fan – expressed concern that this Friday’s quiz will be super difficult if the Red Sox have been eliminated by then.  They have been eliminated.

But, fear not.

I had a math teacher in high school who gave pop quizzes every Monday following a Sunday that the New York Giants lost.  When I was in high school the Giants stunk.  You do the math.

The only reason I remember that teacher is because of those quizzes.  I don’t want the same legacy.
