Hi Mike. It’s about time someone articulated this problem. It’s almost as bad as using the wrong fork for your salad or improper use of parallel constructions. This is truly cathartic and needed someone with the character to do it.

And….that should be “pleaded” captures the past-tense-ed-ness of the word.
Why use one syllable when you can use four? Dammit, why can’t people just talk American?
